Mary Armentrout on Karen Kilimnik's Sleeping Beauty and friends

Mary Armentrout, experimental choreographer, dancer, performer, and ballet teacher, will give a brief lecture demonstration on Karen Kilimnik's video Sleeping Beauty  and friends. Armentrout unpacks the role of dance in Kilimnik's oeuvre and examines some of the repertory Kilimnik quotes in her piece, discuss the role and level of technique that Kilimnik employs, and touch on the role of "pastiche" in live performance. Audience participation will be encouraged!
