I've been a singer my whole life and have performed professionally as a singer and actress my entire adult life. I've starred in musical theater shows in New York and throughout the U.S., I've sung Jewish music (aka: "Klezmer") throughout the U.S., Europe, and even at Carnegie Hall (the main group I sang and recorded with was Chicago's 'Maxwell Street Klezmer Band'), I've performed children's music on television, I've sung and recorded with jazz bands, folk groups, rock groups, and even recently fronted a 'Motley Crue' tribute band. This project -- my solo project -- represents another facet of my artistic life: the singer-songwriter. ( -- "Oh Jeeez... ANOTHER chick singer-songwriter?!?!") It has been my dream ever since I started writing songs in my late teens to become a solo recording artist and performer, and I am finally making it happen. My musical influences are drawn from both the world of pop, rock, and folk music, as well as from jazz, blues, country, and even theater. Musically, I am drawn to the great singers and crooners who know how to really belt it out and use their voice as an expression of emotion and feeling, and lyrically I am influenced by the old folkies and the writers of Tin Pan Alley. First and foremost, I think of myself as an emotional singer and performer who will hopefully move you and make you feel something!
