Arcadia

Picture this. Me and a friend walk into the Arcadia and find the dining room was almost completely deserted. We approach the hostest and ask for a table for two. She looks at us with a scowl and asks in a rude voice ""Do you have reservations?"" LOL..umhhh there's no one here.The food we ordered was adequate but nothing that I would consider to be exceptional. The Arcadia is a great place to stop for a bar snack, hamburger, desert and a glass of wine. The bar and lounge is the reason to eat here

My experiences with the old Arcadia were wonderful. It was upscale comfort food at its best. Service needed a little refining, but otherwise, it was great.I came back the night that Arcadia rolled out its new menu, and had a chance to meet Michael Mina. He was so gracious and nice, and I was surprised that he was so young.I don't know that what I had was representative of the new menu, so I'll have to wait until I form an opinion on that.

The food was incredibly salty and overall was mediocre. It was low on flavor and I didn't find the menu to be interesting. My favorite part of the meal was dessert, but even that was only fair. There's nothing to distinguish this restaurant and for the prices they charge, its a disappointment.

3.5 stars?! Maybe we need to go back and try again. But no bread basket? In its first years dining there was a lovely experience. Then the service degenerated into what seemed to us a lackluster don't care corporate hotel mentality. On more than one occasion we gave our server time we needed to leave and never were our servers able to get dinner and check to us in time. (Once we waited 30 minutes for first course!) The only thing that was good was the biscuts they gave us for dinner. For appetizers we ordered the duck fried fries and onion rings and they were good. The lobster corn dogs were very good as well, nothing that I've ever had before so I have nothing to compare it to. Unfortunately, I ordered a filet mignon and it was gritty and grainy, I was very dissapointed. I've eaten at better places, I don't plan on coming back.S. Huynh San Jose

We have dined at Arcadia many times. Our last visit was just after the re-designed menu was put into place. Unfortunately, some of our favorite things about Arcadia were now gone. My family loved the heated bread basket with the three types of butter and the market salads that allowed a diner to design his own salad. The biggest missing item was the Lobster Pot Pie. This is the signature dish for Michael Mina. How could it have been removed from the menu? We won't be back. Steven Wong, Saratoga
