Ryan Adams is a prolific American alt-country/rock singer-songwriter from Jacksonville, North Carolina. He went solo in 2000, with the release of Heartbreaker. A longtime resident of New York City, Adams is best known for his song "New York, New York," which appeared on his 2001 release Gold. He has since released four more solo albums and three albums with backing band The Cardinals, the latest of which, Easy Tiger, was released in June 2007.
