Pierre Bal-Blanc is the director and curator of CAC Brétigny (Contemporary Art Center of Bretigny) in France, where his innovative exhibition program has drawn much attention to a previously overlooked suburb of Paris. Known for constructing enduring relationships with artists, since 2003 he has pursued the Phalanstère Project, a site-specific series parallel to the exhibitions and residencies program of CAC, for which each exhibited artist is asked to donate a permanent work to the art center.
