The Case of the Stolen Caravaggio

Thursday, Nov 29, 2012 6:30p to 8:00p
Italian Cultural Institute San Francisco, CA

Ludovico Gippetto, founder of Extroart, a group dedicated to the retrieving of stolen art, will give a talk on the case of Caravaggio's "Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence". The masterpiece has not been seen since October 16, 1969, when it disappeared from the altar of a chapel in the Sicilian capital of Palermo.
"Wanted...Presi per il verso giusto" is an initiative promoted by Extroart, aiming to raise awareness of the delicate issue of art theft and to recover stolen works of art
