Although official Zionism frowned upon Yiddish, Yiddish culture maintained a strong presence in pre-State Israel.
Drawing from his own extensive research, Donny. Inbar will share anecdotes, shatter myths, and discuss the love-hate relationship between Hebrew and Yiddish. He will also include rare video clips and recordings of Yiddish plays from stage and screen.
Donny Inbar taught Jewish culture at California universities and directed and translated plays in Israeli professional theater.
