The Shattuck Cinemas opened in May 1988 on the ground floor of the lovely Shattuck Hotel in downtown Berkeley, just one block from the University of California-Berkeley. It features an eclectic mix of Hollywood favorites, foreign language cinema and independent film and is just one block from the BART station. A veritable plethora of intriguing food establishments is within easy walking distance of the theatre.

A French Thriller. Excellent. Subtitles. The story is about a husband and wife who go swimming in the nude in the countryside one evening. Suddenly she disappears. The husband tries to find her only to discover she is dead. The rest of the movie is about his pursuit for her killer. The end is a big surprize.
