In Russia and most Orthodox churches, people celebrate Christmas on January 7th according to the old Julian calendar. In the spirit of these traditions, led by its exciting new Artistic Director, Irina Shachneva, Slavyanka men's chorus and a select group of women singers is presenting “Christmas in January” – a unique concert of choral music ranging from sacred chants of ancient Russia to little known carols and hymns from Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Serbia and Armenia.
